In the name of God Amen I
William Moody of the parish of Bray in the County of Berks
Malster being in good health of body and of sound and perfect mind
and memorie praise bee therefore given to Almighty God Doe make and
ordeine this my present last will and testament in manner and forme
following that is to say First and principally I commend my soule into the
hands of Almighty God hopeing through the meritts death and passion
of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgivenesse
of all my sinns and to inheritt everlasting life and my body I committ to
the earth to bee decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter
mentioned And as touching the disposition of all such temporall estate
as it hath pleased God to bestow upon mee I give and dispose thereof as
followeth viz^t Imp[rimis] I will that my debts and funeral charges shalbee
paid and discharged Item I give and bequeath unto my loving
Daughter Mary Cannon and to John Joseph and William her three
sonns the summe of five shillings a peece to bee paid within a twelve
moneth and a day after my Decease Item I give and bequeath unto
my loving son John the summe of twenty shillings to be paid within a
Twelve moneth and a Day after my Decease All the rest and residue
of my personal; estate goods and chatells whatsoever I doe give and
bequeath unto my loving sonn William And hee to mainteine and keepe
my very loving wife Margaret out of the same And in case my said
wife Margaret should alter her condition my said sonn William
allowing unto my said wife Margaret the summe of forty shillings a
quarter to bee paid at the foure most small feasts or termes in the yeare
during the terme of her naturall life And I appoint my said sonne
William sole Executor of this my last will and testament And I doe
hereby revoke disanull and make void all former wills and testaments
by mee heretofore made In witnesse whereof I the said William Moody to
this my last will and testament being contained in One sheete of paper
have sett my hand and seale the eight and twentieth day of September Annoq[ue]
Domini One Thousand six hundred eighty five the marke of William Moody
senior sealed and witnessed in the presence of the marke of Henry Meaden John
Meaden Tho. White
